Seet Hwee Chee graduated with a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Mathematics) from the National University of Singapore and obtained a Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. She has also undergone International Baccalaureate’s specialised training in teaching Mathematics and in guiding students for their Extended Essays, Creativity, Activity, Service projects.

Hwee Chee began her career in education as a tutor and lecturer of Mathematics in Yishun Junior College. She then moved on to St Andrew's Junior College and was appointed Subject Head for Community Involvement Programme. She also taught Mathematics at Nanyang Girls' High School.

In between her academic careers, she spent two years in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and obtained a MBA (Finance) while exploring the nature wonders of the Grand Canyon State. She is also a certified Financial Advisor and had spent some time in the financial services industry.

Given her diverse experience, Hwee Chee appreciates the beauty and practicality of mathematics. Thus she strongly believes that for students to embrace the subject, the teaching of mathematics must correlate to everyday life.
